Both of them have the strap across the lacing areas so you can tuck your laces in. The upper is great on both of them.īoth shoes have the trail gator clip on the end of the lacing area if you want to wear a trail gator. I don’t think those differences that I can perceive in looking at them is any kind of deciding factor between the two shoes. Neither these shoes are built as as water resistant. I think what that means is the Xodus10 may breathe a little better, but also may mean it could ingest moisture a little better. The weave looks a little different between the two so i got out my eye loop and looked at them very closely and i can tell that the openness of the weave of the peregrine 11 is a little tighter than the Xodus 10. They’ll resist branches and brambles along the trail. Whether I’m pounding pavement or pounding the ground, I’m more susceptible to joint pain and joint discomfort and a little cushioning may not be a bad thing for me.īoth of the uppers in these shoes are an abrasion resistant mesh. So they have a lot more cushion, which is what interests me as an older runner.

The the Xodus 10 adds another 4.5mm so it goes to 31.5 mm stack height, so that’s 9.5 mm over my Peregrine 10.

It goes from 22 millimeters in the 10 to 27 millimeter heel stack in the 11. The Peregrine 11 has five more millimeters of heel stack than the 10s I’m wearing now.

One is the Peregrine 11 and the other is the Xodus 10.Īs I said in my intro, they both have 4mm offset, but the big difference here is the cushioning. So i’ve chosen two saucony shoes because I really like the brand. I’m in the market for a new shoe and I’m going to use this as an opportunity to look at something a little different with a little more cushion. I registered to do a trail marathon this summer and the trail shoes I’m using now, which are Saucony Peregrine 10s, just won’t be in good enough shape to do that race. The Saucony Xodus 10 and the Peregrine 11 are great trail shoes, both have a 4 mm offset, great traction, great comfort.
